On the floor of this chamber, which was dotted with highly carved wooden desks and chairs, were assembled about forty or fifty male Martians around the steps of a rostrum.
— Edgar Rice Burroughs, A PRINCESS OF MARS.
What struck me as most remarkable about this assemblage and the hall in which they were congregated was the fact that the creatures were entirely out of proportion to the desks, chairs, and other furnishings.
— Edgar Rice Burroughs, A PRINCESS OF MARS.
These being of a size adapted to human beings such as I, whereas the great bulks of the Martians could scarcely have squeezed into the chairs, nor was there room beneath the desks for their long legs.
— Edgar Rice Burroughs, A PRINCESS OF MARS.
Now, I had made no attempt to walk, since my first signal failure, except while tightly grasping Tars Tarkas' arm, and so now I went skipping and flitting about among the desks and chairs like some monstrous grasshopper.
— Edgar Rice Burroughs, A PRINCESS OF MARS.
The last we saw of him he was sitting in the middle of the highway in a chair, smoking a pipe, waving to us. Mars is pretty well dead, not even a Martian alive. What about Earth?
— Edgar Rice Burroughs, THE MARTIAN CHRONICLES.
She lay back in a chair that moved to take her shape even as she moved. She closed her eyes tightly and nervously. The dream occurred.
— Edgar Rice Burroughs, THE MARTIAN CHRONICLES.
She did not answer. She wanted to break and run. She wanted to cry out. But she only sat in the chair, turning her fingers over slowly, staring at them expressionlessly, trapped.
— Edgar Rice Burroughs, THE MARTIAN CHRONICLES.
Inside they could see a bead curtain hung across the hall entry, and a crystal chandelier and a Maxfield Parrish painting framed on one wall over a comfortable Morris chair. The house smelled old, and of the attic, and infinitely comfortable.
— Edgar Rice Burroughs, THE MARTIAN CHRONICLES.
The captain touched Cheroke. Cheroke twisted quietly and fell from his chair. Sunlight burned in his bristled short hair and on his high cheekbones.
— Edgar Rice Burroughs, THE MARTIAN CHRONICLES.
Teece sat on the edge of his hardwood chair. “If one of ’em so much as laughs, by Christ, I’ll kill ’em.”
— Edgar Rice Burroughs, THE MARTIAN CHRONICLES.
With a queer feeling of impersonal interest I turned my desk chair to the window, sat down, and stared at the blackened country, and particularly at the three gigantic black things that were going to and fro in the glare about the sand pits.
— H. G. Wells, The War of the Worlds.
The High Secretary lounged back in a mammoth easy chair while a servant massaged his scalp.
— Robert A. Heinlein, Starman Jones.
He sat in the chair sacred to him, smoking quietly and watching Hendrix. The Astrogator's face was gray with fatigue, greasy with unwashed sweat.
— Robert A. Heinlein, Starman Jones.
But the light over his desk burned steadily, his heart pumped as always, obeying familiar laws of hydraulics, his chair pressed up against him--if this was a different sort of space the differences weren't obvious.
— Robert A. Heinlein, Starman Jones.
It seemed time to leave, but he was motioned back to his chair. "Personally, I am sorry to disappoint you, but I am merely the servant of my brothers; I have no choice. However ..."
— Robert A. Heinlein, Starman Jones.
But it suits those who bother with guild politics to make it appear an arcane art--prestige, you know." Dr. Hendrix paused and tapped on his chair arm.
— Robert A. Heinlein, Starman Jones.
She shut up. Montgomery pushed his chair back, stuck his cigar in his mouth, and got up. Max put water on to heat for the dishes, scraped the plates and took the leavings out to the chickens. He stayed out quite a spell, looking at the stars and trying to think.
— Robert A. Heinlein, Starman Jones.
Max got to his feet and shuffled down into the circle of firelight. The man looked up. "Howdy. Draw up a chair."
— Robert A. Heinlein, Starman Jones.
The man slid into a chair and said, "Sit down." When Max hesitated, he added, "Go ahead, put it down. Never like to eat alone." Max could feel the manager's eyes on him, he sat down.
— Robert A. Heinlein, Starman Jones.

A massage session begins with the chair scanning the shape of the user’s body. Precision sensors determine the user’s height and complexion, determine the position of the spine, and identify problem spots that need attention.
The user chooses an area to target with the massage treatment, massage type and intensity.
Activating ZERO-G Mode shifts the chair to a position in which the user stops feeling the weight of their own body, creating the effect of weightlessness akin to being in a zero gravity environment. This ensures maximum relaxation and efficient muscle massage.
Available targeted areas include: back of the head, neck, shoulders, full length of arms, back, buttocks, hips, shins, soles. Massage types include: kneading, tapping, rolling, slapping, vibration, compressed air and infrared heated massage. Applying heat to targeted areas ensures optimal conditions for blood flow with a deep, penetrating effect.
The timer function allows the user to specify massage duration, which removes the need to check the time on a regular basis, allowing the user to fully let go and relax.
